I did this painting of the Ermatinger House for a friend of mine who is passionate about saving this important Oregon City landmark. Built in 1845, the Francis Ermatinger House is the oldest house in Oregon City. It also played a huge part in the naming of Portland, as it is where the famous coin toss between Pettygrove & Lovejoy took place. In my painting I included two figures who, historically, are linked to the house. The man is a sea captain and the little girl goes by the name of Lily or April.
